I am forever grateful for the satellites that make phone calls from my loved ones possible. Although there is a bit of a lag, I will take that any day over silence.
I am forever grateful to whoever invented video calling as well. Even though it’s strange to be essentially talking alone to a device, I will take that any day over effectively being alone.
I am grateful to be privileged enough to fly home in a few days. Grateful to be able to stay for more than a month in what I understand to be “home.” I wish I could feel like home is here, too. But distance is a reality, and I am grateful for all the creations and luck that allow me to bridge (most of) the gaps that come with being away from home.
